So today we had a half-day at school. It was amazing, except for the fact that I had to go to gym class for thirty extra minutes! čśé  I was able to come home and just relax. So I just found some movies on the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries channel called the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries. They are great movies! The main girl is played by Candace Cameron Bure from Full House. If you haven't seen these movies you should watch them right now! They are great for all ages. I am super excited for Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 coming out in theaters tomorrow! I can't wait to go and watch it. Hope you guys have a great week!

8 ounces cream cheese
1 cup sour cream, at room temperature
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon fine salt

Warm the cream cheese in the microwave or in a saucepan over low heat, whisking frequently. The cream cheese should be completely smooth with no lumps remaining. Transfer to a medium bowl and whisk in the sour cream, flour, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Set aside.
For the brownies:
3 sticks unsalted butter

Sprinkle the flour mixture over the chocolate mixture and whisk until just combined. Remove ½ cup of the batter and set aside. Scrape the remaining batter into the prepared pan and smooth with an offset spatula. Dollop the cream cheese mixture evenly over the brownie batter. Smooth with a clean offset spatula. Dollop the remaining brownie batter on the cream cheese layer. Use a chopstick or the tip of a butter knife to swirl the batter and cream cheese. Do not overmix. Bake the brownies until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 50 to 55 minutes. Let cool completely before cutting.

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk*
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a cupcake pan with papers.
  2. Place the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and whisk to combine.  Place the buttermilk, oil, egg whites,  and almond extract in a large measuring cup, and stir together.  Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry, and mix on low speed until smooth (about 90 seconds to 2 minutes).  Fill the cupcake papers about 2/3 full with batter.
  3. Bake for 16-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the thickest part of a cupcake comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  4. Pipe on the Buttercream frosting.

Buttercream Frosting:
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoons almond extract (vanilla can be substituted)
  • 2 1/2 tbsp heavy cream

Recipes from here

  • 6 tablespoons butter, divided
  • ¾ cup whole milk milk
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 – 4 ½ cups all purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • ¼ cup potato flakes
  • 1 tablespoon rapid-rise yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped rosemary
  • 3 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley, divided
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, whole or minced

  1. Place 4 tablespoons of butter, milk, and water in a 2 cup microwave-safe measuring cup. Heat on high for 1 minute. The milk mixture should be warm to the touch. Continue to heat in 10-15 second intervals until the milk mixture reaches that temperature. If it’s too hot, just let it cool.
  2. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the dough-hook attachment, add 4 cups of flour, potato flakes, yeast, sugar, salt, garlic, rosemary, and 2 tablespoons of parsley and just stir to combine.
  3. Start the machine on the ‘stir’ setting and slowly stream in the warm milk mixture and the egg. When combined, increase the speed of the mixer to medium-low and allow the mixer to run for 4-5 minutes. After the first 1-2 minutes the dough should start pulling away from the sides of the bowl, if it doesn’t add an additional ¼ cup of flour and let the mixer run for another minute, if the dough still hasn’t formed into a ball, add the remaining ¼ cup of flour.
  4. Remove the dough from the hook, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes. While the dough is rising, position a rack in the center of the one and preheat the oven to 180┬║F. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray, set aside.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. With a floured rolling pin, roll the dough out into a 15-inch circle. Using a pizza cutter dipped in flour, cut the dough into 12 or 16 equal pieces. You can weigh the dough to make it more accurate but I usually just eyeball it. Fold the seams in and roll into a smooth ball. Place the dough seam side down into the prepared baking dish. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  6. Using a pastry brush, brush water on the tops of the rolls so they don’t dry out in the oven. Turn the oven OFF and place the baking dish inside the oven. Allow the dough to rise for 20 minutes. DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR UNTIL THE 20 MINUTES ARE UP.
  7. Remove the baking dish from the oven and place on the counter while you preheat the oven to 375┬║F. Bake the dinner rolls for 18-22 minutes or until the tops are nice and golden. Baking time will be slightly shorter if you made them into 16 rolls (around 14-18 minutes). Prepare the garlic butter sauce (step #8) in the last 5-7 minutes while the rolls are still in the oven.
  8. In a small saucepan, combine the garlic and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, heat over medium heat. When the butter melts and you can smell the garlic, add the remaining tablespoon of chopped parsley. Add in a pinch of salt and stir. Brush the tops of the prepared rolls with garlic butter mixture. Serve warm.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a long time I have been really busy this summer! I have been packing, then I went to efy (Especially for Youth which was AWESOME!!) But unfortunately I got sick the last day of efy. So I have been sick the past week. But here is a recipe of some really good nacho cheese sauce.

Nacho Cheese Sauce
Makes about a pint of sauce

3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons onion, minced
2 tablespoons green chile, chopped
2 tablespoons tomato,seeded and finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup buttermilk
2 ounces monterey jack cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter over low heat in a saute pan. Add onion, green chile, tomato, turmeric, paprika and cayenne pepper. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes until onion softens completely.
Add the remaining  butter and the flour, and continue to cook on low for another 2 minutes. Add the cream, 1/2 cup of buttermilk, and cheese and stir until the cheese melts. Add in the remaining buttermilk, and olive oil a little at a time until you get a velvety sauce, about 10 minutes.

These chocolate chip pancakes are so yummy and it doesn't take long to make them!

First you want to mix all of the dry ingredients into one bowl.

Then you want to add in your egg, milk, buttermilk, and vegetable oil.
    Whisk all the ingredients together and then put them on a  griddle. I like
to add chocolate chips to my pancakes but you don't have to.
This is what your pancakes should look like on the griddle. Make sure before
you put them on the griddle that you spray the pan with Non-stick cooking spray.
  Here's the recipe
                                * 1 egg
                                * 1/2 cup buttermilk
                                * 1/2 cup milk
                                * 2 tablespoons oil
                                * 1 cup flour
                                * 1 tablespoon sugar
                                * 1 teaspoon baking powder
                                * 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
                                * 1/2 teaspoon salt
